What is pain?

Pain is defined as the physical suffering or a distressing sensation in a n area of the body due to an injury, an illness, etc. It is important to have a clear understanding of how acute pain differs from chronic pain. Acute pain is short-lasting and is usually relieved by treatment. Chronic pain is long-lasting, and can sometimes be unresponsive to treatment, which can diminish an individual’s quality of life.

Pain Management

Everyone’s pain issues are different. Patients who experience acute pain usually receive resolution, whereas individuals with chronic pain are unlikely to do so. Your personal treatment plan may involve medical management, physical therapy, acupuncture, psychological therapy and minimally invasive techniques to give you effective pain relief, so you can avoid major surgery.
